I started off my rowing career as a bit of an underdog. I was very overweight and not athletic. I would fall behind on runs and I couldn't keep up in the boat. But I decided that wasn't who I wanted to be. I put in work during that winter, erging, lifting, eating tons of pasta, the whole shabang. And when the Spring season started back up, I emerged with the fastest 2K on my team. Fast forward a few years and now I'm hooked. I'm currently a Varsity Boy's Team Captain of Friends of Shenendehowa Crew and I couldn't be happier. I love the rush of being side by side, going down the race course stroke for stroke until that crucial fight brakes out and you see who wants to win the most. There's no better feeling than when you feel that connection with your teammates, knowing that you're all putting out full effort, hitting together perfectly and flying across the water. To sum it all up, I love rowing and nothing can stop me from achieving my dreams!
