Personal Statement
I have been playing tennis since the age of 8. I started in Israel - in the Tennis Center in Ramat Hasharon. When I was 10 we moved to South Africa (my father's home country) and the first thing I did (even before starting my new school) was join the Sinnet International Tennis Academy in Cape Town, an academy run by Stephan De Cock. I have been training there for the past five years. In the academy I attend squad training as well as individuals and see the great value of both. For the past five years I have been competing regularly in the TSA (Tennis South Africa) tournaments at all levels - from the local minis to the Nationals held once a year. I love competing. My progress has been continuous I also play for the Westerns Province team. I think that I am a very valuable member of a tennis team both because of my tennis skills and my comfortable character. I get along well with my tennis team mates (and training squad mates) and I value the support a player gives and receives in a team. I have had a lot of international exposure (having lived in Israel, Nigeria and South Africa, attending International Schools) and I understand and accept differences among people and cultures. And in all this journey I have not neglected my academics and have always been in the top of my class. I am especially good in math and sciences, and have always received academic awards. I know how to manage my time well and have been successful in remaining in the top both at school and in tennis. Both are important to me.
