Personal Statement
I am currently a sophomore at Divine Child High School in Dearborn, Michigan. I am a leader on and off the court and strive to better myself and my team. My collegiate goals and aspirations are to grow athletically and academically. I would like to reach my full potential when I go to college and play my best at the college level. I always try to work my hardest and help my teammates no matter what the situation. I have played on many different teams in the past with many different kinds of people. I think of this as very helpful when I meet new people and play on new teams. I try to work well with all of my teammates even if we may have some differences.
During my life I have tried many different sports. Now that I am in high school, I am sticking to the sports I feel the most passionate about: basketball, tennis, and golf. Being a multi- sport varsity athlete, I have maintained good time management skills and have learned to put school as my first priority while keeping a good GPA average.
I play basketball because I love the intensity and fast pace of the game. One of my favorite parts of basketball is stealing the ball and going for a fast break lay-up. I am very aggressive and I am not afraid to get pushed around. Some of my assets is being able to dribble out of pressure and shoot with both my left and right hand. I believe that offense is a very important part of the game, but defense can make or break a game and the finishing result. I strive during practice to better myself in both offense and defense and will never shy away from the challenge of playing my hardest.
