Love may mean zero in tennis, but it is all I have ever felt from the moment my mom put the racquet in my hand. I was immediately hooked. I began playing tennis when I was 8 years old. As a young child, I enjoyed playing and being with other kids and having fun. From there my desire to play grew. I started taking private lessons and really developed an understanding of the game. From the basics of keeping score, to what my mom still refers to as the most important part of the game- etiquette, and sportsmanship. I pride myself to this day, on not only how I play the game, but also on how I conduct myself on and off the court - as an ambassador of the game. After a couple of years of lessons and club match play, I competed in my first tournament at age 10. I won that tournament and it fueled my desire to compete. I have grown as a player, student, and person since that time. I have had success in all age groups to this point, winning multiple tournaments at each age level. I currently have a 4.0 and work hard to maintain my grade point average. I plan to graduate with a 4.0. I take advanced classes as well, such as math and English literature. I believe in challenging myself and doing everything necessary to be successful. Being successful at tennis is no different than being successful at life...it takes hard work, dedication, discipline, and a belief in yourself that surpasses everything.
