Personal Statement
When I started playing tennis at 5 years old, I never would have imagined that it would become such a huge part of my life. After years of hard work and dedication, I am lucky to be able to compete year-round at a sectional and national level. I recently got back from the Easter Bowl in San Diego, California where I made it to the quarterfinals in 16 and under doubles before falling in a third set (Tennis Recruiting).
Throughout the years, I have developed a very strong work ethic which has helped me grow on and off of the court. I love to compete and enjoy that I am continuously given the chance to fine-tune and develop my game, both in tournaments and in practice. I am also very versatile on the court and always adapt in order to pit my strengths against my opponents’ weaknesses. Whether this means slice, lobs, drop shots, or serve and volleys, I will do whatever it takes to get my opponent out of their comfort zone.
Along with tennis, I am very passionate about my education and have high career goals. I currently have a 4.0 GPA (unweighted) and am ranked #1 in my class. Balancing both my athletic and career goals has taught me to have great organization and time management. I am particularly interested in pursuing my education in biomedical sciences and medicine.
On the court or in the classroom, I will always put my best effort in and show up with a positive attitude. I am a team player and will always support and cheer on my teammates. I hope to make a positive impact on your program!
