Hello! My name is Berit Galloway, and I'm a rising sophomore. I have been playing tennis competitively for almost 2 years. I would love to play college tennis at a larger school that is close to home (South Carolina). I am open to playing club tennis as well. My goals are simply just to see improvement. I push myself to be the best I can academically and athletically. I have been told by friends, coaches, and other parents that I am coachable, friendly, and willing to learn and help. I try to always help others when I can and to be someone to talk to. I also love being part of a team. The welcoming environment where everyone shares a passion for tennis is so uplifting.
As I try to be a consistent, focused tennis player, I also am heavily driven by my grades and academic standings. I spend my free time studying and staying ahead in my schoolwork in order to achieve and earn my grades. I always attend review sessions and after school help when I feel it is necessary. On the other hand, I love tennis and want to spend every second I can working to reach my goals. I take what my coaches say to heart, and I appreciate their confidence and trust in me. I have already learned so many valuable life skills from tennis, and I hope to continue my path in college. Ultimately, my goals are to play tennis at a school that I truly feel at home at while also preparing me academically for post-graduate work in the medical field.
