Personal Statement
I have been committed to pursuing a collegiate track career ever since I started this sport in 6th grade. I have fallen in love with the team aspect, life lessons, and the hard work you need year around in order to truly compete in track and field. I have also learned to balance this with being in all honors classes and a year ahead in math while maintaining a solid social life outside of track and school, volunteering at Maricopa County Animal Care and Control, being apart of numerous clubs and organizations like 4-H, and also competing in horse and dog shows. Furthermore, I bring endless amounts of positive energy to my team while also being a leader and captain to all other grade levels. From all that I have learned from my coaches, and seeing outcomes of my hard work in this sport, I have decided that it is not only a dream of mine to run for a college, but also a huge personal goal. I believe I have the talent on a multitude of levels, as well as the attitude, and performance in the classroom.
Outside of track, I have battled many personal challenges and injuries that have formed me into who I am today. From these invisible injuries and obstacles, I have grown stronger, a more well rounded person/peer, and someone who can relate to all ages. In addition to these experiences, I have become more mature by learning how to properly converse with adults and children while staying professional and learning from the environment around me. Although most people would see my story as something to hold me back, I use it to my advantage and make it something positive that will help me stand out from others.
