Up until the summer before my freshman year, I was a competitive dancer. I decided to stop dancing to pursue athletics and academics in preparation for college. When track season rolled around my freshman year I didn't start jumping until the last few weeks of the season and realized I had a love for it. My sophomore year track season had its ups and downs. I was consistently breaking my records in the triple jump until my injury. The week before league and divisions I ended up with a fractured knee, due to jumping in a meet, cutting my season abruptly short. It pained me to sit on the sideline and watch everyone else compete, but that didn't stop me. I continued to work hard in the weight room, doing what I could. As soon as I was cleared for activity, I was back in the water strengthening my legs. As a very competitive person, I am constantly pushing myself to become the best possible athlete I can be. Going into my junior year track season, I have a vengeance to come back stronger than before and crush my old personal records. However, as a three sports scholar-athlete, I am not only invested in athletics but I have a commitment to my academics and hold over a 4.0 GPA while taking numerous college courses.
