In college, I'm looking for a team environment that is challenging and motivating. Although most people consider long distance running to be an individual sport, I would consider myself to be a team player. Being the captain for my school's cross-country team this year, I make it a priority to encourage my teammates and bring out the best in them in races and practices. I pay attention to the small details in training to perfect the technical aspects of my running, but I never lose sight of my overwhelming love of the sport. Running is a time-consuming endeavor, and with no off season I have to budget my time wisely. In spite of my demanding schedule I love taking AP and honors classes. I set high standards for myself both in running and in school and enjoy the process of working towards my goals, and in college I look forward to taking myself to new levels.
