Personal Statement

Hello!  My name is Stella Simon and I will be graduating in May of 2026.   From 2013 - 2023, I was a competitive club gymnast and ended my 10 year career as an Excel Platinum (level 6-7) in July 2023.  I have been competing in Track since the spring 2022 season for Syracuse High School in Kansas.  My main focus has been Triple Jump and the 4x100m relay, but I have also done Long Jump, Pole Vault, Javelin and the 300 Hurdles.  For my sophomore year (2023-24) going forward, I plan to also play HS Football, compete in Power Lifting, get into some indoor track meets, and still practice gymnastics skills to help keep me in shape, improve my strength, quickness, agility and flexibility for the upcoming track seasons.   I am no stranger to long practice hours, 15-17 hrs. per week have been my normal, and am a very dedicated, driven, dependable and coachable individual competitor and team player.  My plan is to Double Major in Accounting & Business and have already started taking college Accounting classes.  I want to go to a college that has a high standard of academics for the career I have chosen, but also where I can continue to compete in track at the collegiate level.  My ultimate goals in high school are to maintain my GPA, reach 41' in Triple Jump, improve my Javelin throw into the 130'+ range and to be part of a state worthy 4 x 100m relay team so I can transition into continuing my track career in college.
