2023 Highlights Personal Statement
Hello! My name is Abby Overbay and I am apart of the 2024 class at South Warren High School. I started running Cross country 2021 my sophomore year and ran varsity. I got 9th at state and got all-state, I also region champ in 2021. I have been running track since 7th grade. I started running distance track in 2022 where I have been focusing on the 1600 and 3200. I made the 2022 KY dream mile and got a PR of 5:10.47. This year at state I got 6th in the 1600 and 5th in the 3200. My team got 5th in the 4x800 as well. At regionals I got 1st in the 1600 and 3200 and my team got 1st in the 4x800. My junior season hasn’t been my best year but I learned and grown as an athlete which will help me tremendously for my senior year!
Running has became a passion for me this past year and everyday I choose to be determined and dedicated to making myself better, not only in running but try to in all aspects in my life. I want to complete at a higher level and be able to run in college once I graduate High school. I have a 4.0 GPA and take advanced classes and AP. I want to work in the medical field as well.
