Personal Statement
I am extremely excited to go to college and am doing my best to prepare for it academically, athletically, and by giving back to my community. Finding chemistry and Biology intriguing classes, I hope to pursue my interest and major in chemistry, biochemistry, or possibly in the Medical Field. My teachers nominated me to represent other females in my school math and science minded to participate in the Girl's Science and Math Explor-a-thon.
However, academics are not my only goal in college. I love sports and am eager to become a student athlete in track. I am a hard worker. My coaches have noticed my motivation and team spirit. They have asked me to be part of an athletic leadership council comprised of one or two leaders from each varsity sports team at Brighton High School. This involvement has helped me understand ways to encourage my teammates so that our team can be at our personal best each time we practice and compete.
My leadership is not limited to the classroom and the track field. I have been the captain of my figure skating Theatre on Ice team for the Harmony Figure Skating Program. This lead role of helping younger skaters has been the foundation toward building a winning team. In fact, our team placed first at Nationals TOI competition in both Strongsville and Troy Ohio for the past two consecutive years. I am proud to have been part of a team which is representing Team USA in Paris, France in 2015.
I would be honored to be a valuable, positive contribution to your college and sports program. I am prepared to work hard and be successful.
