Deshawna Hodges '23 Recruiting Profile

My goals are to find my purpose in life, and to have fun with what I do. Whatever i do, I want to learn something out of it. I don't want to do something and I don't get anything out of it. What makes me a good candidate is that I'm ready, and I'm a joyful person, I want to see everyone happy. But I'm very competitive. And I'm ready to take down anyone who gets in my way. When it comes to school, it can be hard for me if I don't have anything to look forward to. But when I'm in sports my grades are good because I know that if I can't get good grades, then I can't do sports. Sports formed me into a different person. When I'm on the court, field, or track, I am not the same person you see at school. I'm very much more focused and determined. But school has also made me into a more understanding person. It helped me see that everyone has their own story. So you can never judge someone by the way you see them.
