As an upcoming collegiate scholar athlete my focus is stressing the importance in the word scholar.
Focusing on academics is a tremendous goal of mine. I know that more athletes go pro in something else so achievement scholastically is important for me. As a young upcoming professional my goal is to become a physicians assistant. It is important early that I recognize that in my case the pole for vaulting is not going to last permanently.
However the same drive I possess for academic excellence, carries over to the field in vaulting. Just like I’ve trained privately for the ACT I train privately as a vaulter. Even though I am a dual sport athlete, I train two to three times weekly to improve my vaulting. Each year I have set my sights on setting new personal records and this year it’s no different. As a vaulter I will always set my sights on improvement being the best in the state and in college being the best in the conference. That drive will not stop. I would be a great addition to any team because I am a team leader, I am motivated, and I will lead by example with my work ethic and hardwork.
What sets me apart from other recruits is my desire to be well rounded. I understand life is about being balanced. As a scholar athlete I will be involved on campus socially as well as working hard to better my craft as a vaulter. Being the best version of myself as a vaulter is a priority as well as being tops in my class academically is my desire. In my school career I have always achieved at the highest level and I do not plan on breaking that streak as a collegiate athlete. I have been named district scholar athlete on multiple occasions and I will carry that over to being all conference and an NCAA Scholar Athlete.
I am a leader and want to be a leader collegiately. I have goals and values centered around scholarship, leadership, and achievement. With these core values in mind, I will be a dedicated athlete and campus leader poised to improve myself and any team that I become a participant.
