I aspired to run college level track as soon as I fell in love with the sport over five years ago. Joining the track and field team felt natural for me in middle school. However, I did not have an easy start to my high school track season, which started in 2021. During covid there was limited room for growth as we were not allowed to practice or have any meets. When the next spring season began, I put extra effort into track and field improving my PRs. I was fueled by the fact that I had to work harder now since Covid took away my opportunity to participate in my first high school track season.
I was only able to compete in outdoor track for many years, due to conflicts between indoor track and my competitive gymnastics team that I do year-round. This minor setback has not stopped me from being active all year long. However, this year I put more focus on track and field, by signing up for indoor track.
I continue to look for more ways to improve and feel I am very coachable. I respect the advice of my coaches as well as try to help my peers. I always look for ways to help my team by being a team leader and the best captain I can. I put in hard work every day to achieve my goals for every season, and I know this will help me to continue growing.
I have also been volunteering with kids as well as seniors since middle school. For example, Gymnastics Village and Courville at Nashua (senior living). I currently work at Benchmark Senior Living and YMCA as a summer camp counselor (seasonally). During school I have been a part of many clubs such as, FBLA, National Art Honors Society, and Fuel up to Play 60.
