Personal Statement
My name is Kelci Waters and I'm a rising junior at Milford High School in Milford, New Hampshire. I started playing lacrosse with Granite State Elite when I was 8. Since then, I haven't stopped and it has been amazing. Lacrosse takes me to so many different places, where I can see new things and meet so many people. The friends I've made through this game are some of the best I'll ever have. I really value my friendships and relationships with others, and I'm drawn to people who want to make something of themselves. Playing lacrosse gives me opportunities that I wouldn't have any access to otherwise. I work hard in school and push myself because my parents have shown me the doors an amazing education can open for you. I strive for all A's in my classes, and a high GPA. I fully plan on continuing that through college. In middle school, I was a two year captain of my school lacrosse team, and I learned a lot about leadership and teamwork. We didn't have the best record, but I learned more than I would have with a winning record. I played all over the field, and became a lot better with multitasking.
I've had many thoughts about playing collegiate lacrosse, and I'm ready to make that a reality. I'm not afraid to work, and I'm always ready for new challenges. I follow directions well and I think creatively on and off the field. I believe that I have the skill to play on a collegiate team, as well as the work ethic, character, and leadership skills to make an impact on a program. I want to play the sport I love while being surrounded by good people, all while getting an irreplaceable education.
