Jalencia Griffin '24 Recruiting Profile

Being the middle child of three kids in an athletic family, I was definitely the late bloomer when it came to playing sports. Over the years, I slowly fell in love with running and decided to run track for my local high school, Manning High, around the age of 13 years old. It was challenging, being the youngest and having people think less of me because of my age. Over time, I continued to train and learn more about track and field, I was definitely determined to show others what a "young" athlete can accomplish. Currently, becoming the 2x State Champion and earning over 30 medals, I can definitely say all the hard work has paid off!! One of my main goals is to showcase my talent to inspire other little girls that anything is possible, regardless of their age. I am a person with great leadership, determination, and humility. Most importantly, I am a coachable athlete. I dream to have a coach that sees great potential within me and trains me to become a better version of myself, hopefully allowing me to perform on big platforms.
