I became adamant about furthering my track and field career at the collegiate level when I quit basketball my sophomore year. After my outdoor season of freshman year, I was a state champion in the high jump and assisted my team in winning both the 4x400 and the 4x100. These successes helped me to realize that not only was a talented athlete but also that I was willing to work harder in order to reach my goals in track rather than basketball. Through track and field I have learned more about myself and my capabilities than any other sport I have played before. Therefore, I decided to pursue indoor track in the winter and fully commit myself to the sport I love.
While I am a valuable athlete, I also excel in my academics. Therefore, I am interested in a school that will not only challenge me athletically but academically as well. I also am interested in a school where I can further my interest in psychology. Recently, I received awards in honor of my academic achievement as well as leadership skills. I feel that I am a determined and focused student-athlete that can bring both athletic and academic talents to your institution. Below I have attached my MileSplit account where you can find more videos of my races.
