Growing up, I was surrounded by sports. I was thrown into softball at age 4, volleyball and basketball following not long after at age 7. The reason I started playing was to connect with people and to connect with myself. Finding that connection with my coaches, my teammates, myself, and of course, the ball over the years has taught me valuable life lessons. Whenever anything is a little too overwhelming or a little too hard, sports have always been there as a backbone, and all that emotion and dedication has, and is continuing to make me a better player. My parents have instilled the value of commitment, which I translate into everything I do whether it be school, sports, or my relationship with others. I wish to become better at instilling these values and learn new values as I grow and progress in my sports journey.
