Isabella Avila '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches! Thank you for visiting my page. I appreciate your time and I hope this will help you see if I can be a positive fit for your volleyball program.

My name is Isabella Avila. I recently turned 17, and a Junior at American Canyon High School (Napa County) in Northern California. Excited to be part of Class of 2024. Volleyball has been a big part of my family for as long as I can remember. My mom and her siblings (my aunts and uncle) all played when they were in high school, so while other kids grow up playing tag or hide & seek, my family put up a volleyball court in the back and played.

I began playing competitively when I was 9 years old in a juniors program of our local club. From that point, I never stopped. I played for Club Solano Volleyball for 4 seasons and currently with PRVA (Pacific Rim Volleyball Academy). During the club off-season, I played for American Canyon Middle and High School during fall seasons, as well as beach and grass volleyball during summers. I’ve been dubbed by many of my coaches as an all-around utility player. I have had seasons as an outside hitter, opposite, DS, and most recently, libero during varsity season where I earned first team all-league player for the Vine Valley Athletic League and helped our team win league as a starter. Playing multiple positions has helped me have better understanding of the different aspects of volleyball, and the importance of each role. I seek out opportunities to improve my skills and will always be a student of the sport. Some of my prior coaches are still my best friends to this day.

Beyond Volleyball, my faith plays a large role in my life. I also have a wide-range of interests. I like testing out new recipes in the kitchen. I pass time by making custom jewelry, listening to music, and reading. My family loves to travel so I’ve come to appreciate experiencing different things and places. I enjoyed the Sports Med class I had in my sophomore year and really enjoying the psychology class I currently have.  

I am very excited at the opportunity to play at the next level of volleyball. I hope to have an opportunity to talk with you and learn more about each other. Thank you!
