Hello my name is Poema Ueligitone, and I have been playing for about 6 years now. I first started off my volleyball career playing as a middle. When playing that position I learned how to read the game from the point of view of a middle. When I finally changed positions, I gained a new view of the game and how a pin views the game. So when going into a game, I can look at the players across the net and I can read their next move. Also playing as both a middle and a rightside, I have gained skills from both positions that elevate me as a player. But one thing the ive learned that has noting to do with skill or talent is the importance of the mental game. Ive faced many hard and tough games in my career. And from those games, ive learned that to be a great player one has to have a strong mindset. One that pushes through all stress and disappointment. With years of experiences, ive been pushed, screamed at, and etc. But one thing I have learned to do is to tune them out. Ive learned to use whatever feeling I have towards a certain team and put all into the court. No matter all the stresses whether it be a bad test score or bad relationships, whenever I step on the volleyball court all my struggles and problems disappear and I just play. Keeping things positive till the end.
