Hello! My name is Addison Olson and I am a Senior Varsity student-athlete attending Bakersfield High School in California with a 3.75 Cumulative GPA. I have been actively playing volleyball for the past 8 years. I am starting Middle at BHS and this is my 6th year in club volleyball also starting Middle on Dartfrog 18’s-Black. My goal is to play volleyball at the collegiate level while earning a post-secondary degree.
I have played volleyball since the 3rd Grade. In middle school, I played for my school team and I made the Vision Zone 13's team my 7th grade year where we were the AAU Volleyball West Coast Championships Bronze Division Winner, and then in 8th grade (2019) I made 15-1's, but our season was cut short by Covid.
Freshman year (2020-21) I played Opposite on Dartfrog 16-1’s Nicci. I also competed for my high school’s Varsity Swim team and ended the season qualifying for CIF Central Section Championships along with my teammates in the Freestyle 4X100 Relay.
Sophomore year I secured a spot on the Varsity team as a Middle/Opposite. This is where I began to develop as an all around player. I was voted Team Captain as well as MVP at the end of the season. I made the Dartfrog 16-1’s Katie Team and this time we finished 2nd Overall in the SCVA Gold Division.
Junior Year I started as Varsity Captain at Middle and played all the way around. I was voted Volleyball Powerhouse ranking third in the CIF Central Section for hitting percentage (.356), 12th for kills with 326, while also massing 80 blocks, 57 aces, 112 digs, and named 1st Team All League for the 22-23 season for the South Yosemite Valley League Conference. I made the Dartfrog 18-1’s Katie as a starting Middle Blocker. Our notable achievement was placing third in the 18’s American Division at the SCVA Red Rock Rave Junior National Qualifier. I also coached non-travel volleyball at Dartfrog Volleyball Club.
So far my senior year is looking great! In addition to volleyball, I am in my third year of student government at BHS where I am currently serving as my school’s ASB Spirit Commissioner. I am also involved in Link Crew, a leadership mentor program for incoming freshmen. I am so excited for the upcoming school year and club season!
Over my career in volleyball, I have not only forged friendships with my teammates that will last forever, but I have also been blessed with amazing coaches who have been so instrumental in my development. They have all said that I am very coachable. I feel that it is through their constructive feedback that I have been able to continually improve upon my volleyball skills. Now it is time for me to pursue my passion for volleyball and all that comes with it at the next level.
I regularly post highlight videos on my Instagram (@addisonolsonvb) and Twitter (@AddisonOVB) and would be honored if you would consider following my journey!
I look forward to the opportunity to connect with you in the near future.
Sincerely,
Addison Olson
