My name is Lara Martinez, and I am a OH/OPP for the class of 2025. I have been playing volleyball since I was 7 years old and after almost a decade I can say that there is nothing I love more than lacing up my shoes and stepping onto the court. Every time I step into the gym for practice, game, or tournament, I step into the mindset of go hard or go home. I am very competitive and serious about this sport. I want to be challenged and work hard everyball I touch.
In my first high school season in 2020, I made varsity as a freshman, and was elected captain by my teammates despite my youth. I was challenged at every practice with this higher level and I enjoyed every single moment of it and still do as I played for varsity and was captain again my sophmore year. It is a different level of play, not only because you are facing bigger or older girls the speed of the game increased and I live for the challenge. I am looking to attending a program with a balance of competitive volleyball and academic excellence that could potentially help me greatly with my career path.
I am searching for a school that can help me achieve my life goals of having a great education as well as advancing my game to the professional level. I am very dedicated to my work and want to find a program who is just as dedicated to it as I am.
