I am incredibly passionate about volleyball; I would be beyond grateful for the opportunity to continue playing the game in college. I can make this dream possible with hard work and dedication.
Many coaches have told me throughout my volleyball career so far that I am very coachable. I take feedback well and implement the corrections into my play. I am almost always the loudest person in the gym. I am a team player and believe that volleyball is not an individual sport; you must connect with your teammates and play as a team. I will always support and cheer on my teammates through their amazing plays and struggles. As a player, I find it essential to have support from your teammates, especially when you may not believe in yourself; therefore, I try my best to make sure everyone on my team knows that I am right there supporting and believing in them. I learned at an early age never to be down on yourself after a mistake; you need to shake it off, focus on the next ball, and make it great. I am a very flexible person. When we had an injured setter during the high school season, my coaches asked me if I could step in. Although the position was new, I would not let my coaches or team down. I am willing to try any position if needed and will put in the time and effort it takes to become good at it. I am determined to be excellent in everything that I do.
Not only am I self-driven on the court, but I am also driven in my academics. I maintained a 4.5 weighted GPA and a 4.0 un-weighted GPA this past year. Along with my Honors/AP classes, I also write for my school's newspaper. Being a student-athlete has taught me time management and organization. My plan for college is to major in Journalism (broadcast/sports) or Marketing. I hope to hear from you soon!
