Personal Statement
I love the game of volleyball and it has always been my dream to play at the NCAA Division 1 college level. I am an outsider hitter and have been playing volleyball since I was 11 years old. I recently received MVP for my high school league conference and helped my team win a gold medal in the 16-1 American Division at the 2014 GJNC. I have been a starter and captain on both my high school and club teams. I am self-motivated and committed to performing my best at all times and bringing out the best in my teammates.
While I consider myself to be very competitive with the will to win, I’ve learned that volleyball is so much more than a game and truly a life changing experience. It’s taught me how to be mentally tough, how to deal with adversity, and how to come back in tough times. I’ve made lifetime friends and learned real life long lessons. I’ve learned that a true leader makes everyone on the team better. I believe my ability to encourage and motivate others adds great value and sets me apart from other players. I have great study skills and playing volleyball has taught me how to manage my time wisely between school, volleyball and a social life.
I am excited about the possibilities of the future and look forward to finding a school where I can continue to grow and develop as a person, athlete, and academic student.
