I believe that life is tough and there are going to be days that you may not want to get out of bed, but you have to use those days to your advantage. You have to seek comfort in the discomfort because when you're outside of your comfort zone that is the only time when you truly grow. Volleyball is a strong example of this in my life. I started my journey mostly because my sister played all through college, but then I grew such a passion for not only the sport itself but the team dynamic as well. A team is your family. You may not like your family sometimes, but when it comes down to it you have eachothers back. I not only comfort my teammates when they fall short, but also push them as well as myself to work harder and improve in all ways. Academics are always a priority even if you are busy. If I can't seem to balance my schedule I always move things around so I can get straight A's without abandoning my sport. Volleyball has become a safe space for me. I have learned that even if I've had a really bad day, I have to leave all outside problems off the court and just enjoy the sport that I love. I'm excited to improve, learn, and grow all around as a person throughout my volleyball journey which is nowhere near over.
