Personal Statement
My name is Gigi Ha and I have been playing volleyball for about three years now. Though it has not been very long since I have started, as soon as I had picked up the sport, I had dedicated all of my efforts into becoming a better player and reach my goal to play volleyball collegiately. My goal is to obtain my Bachelors and my Masters to one day pursue my goal in becoming a Fetal or Cardiothoracic surgeon one day. It is my passion to help others within my community especially the elderly and the less privileged around me. Growing up in a Catholic school and community, I have learned the value of generosity and the beauty of giving and growing.
Volleyball has given me a way to develop a role of leadership to lead myself to help those around me and teach others the value of giving back and sacrifice. It has taught me to fight for what my goals are and to keep pushing myself no matter how hopeless things may seem. It has given me a voice on and off the court. I can bring the fire to the court and help my teammates push through any point through my voice of encouragement. Communication is a big factor in life and because of volleyball I have found an efficient way to make my voice heard. I am very passionate about the sport and I currently work two jobs and participate in choirs and volunteer groups. I also take college classes (4 at the moment this semester) on top of my school work.
