Leila Matias '26 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing club volleyball since the sixth grade and have loved it ever since. I have learned and developed so much over the years with the help of some amazing coaches, who always push me to be better. I work really hard and have fun while doing it- in volleyball and academics! Outside of volleyball I also spend a lot of time doing community service with National Charity League.  My favorite community service events are working at the food bank, helping distribute food, and working with students with special needs at a local high school. I received the Presidential Service Award last year for the number of hours that I completed, which was pretty cool!  

I have been lucky to have the best teammates throughout my experience so far. Also lucky to have parents that support me! I have a positive attitude and cheer everyone on which I think is so important.  I train my physical skills and mental skills that I think help me in volleyball and life!
