Caroline Vasquez '23 Recruiting Profile

      Hi Coaches! My name is Caroline Vasquez, I am an 18 -year-old freshman at orange coast college. This will be my 6th year playing volleyball. I was the starting libero at OCC. I  played at Saddleback Volleyball Club as a libero. Ever since I was I started playing sports I knew I wanted to play at the collegiate level. I played many sports growing up, but once I found volleyball I fell in love with this sport. The more I stepped onto the court the more passionate I became about volleyball. I am constantly training on and off the court, eager to improve. Characteristics of mine are that I'm driven, relentless, and determined to improve my skills. I am very passionate and dedicated to this sport, no matter if it gets challenging, I will continue to persevere. Volleyball brings me so much joy I feel at peace when I step onto the court, which makes me not want to leave and to continue working.  I've encountered many moments of defeat in my years of playing, but it's how I'm able to correct my mistake, have mental toughness, and improve on the next play that will set me up for success. I don't allow myself to get into my head as I know mistakes are inevitable, and my confidence guides me to know I'm capable of getting every ball.  As for academics, I have always been self-driven, I have been a part of the honors program since my freshman year, striving to have the highest grades.  I am able to manage my time very well as I learned how to maintain a part-time job, practice every day, and still prioritize my studies.  Though there are times that do get hectic and overwhelming, I know that as long as I stay focused and determined on my goal of playing collegiate volleyball everything will work out. In any goal I have made for myself, I have never let up, no matter the difficulties or the barriers in my way I will always strive to obtain that goal of mine.
