Personal Statement
As a High School freshman, I was blessed to know what it felt like to go to state, and to finish in the top 3. The next year however, I got to learn more about myself and my character on the court when we didn't end up making it to state. I learned that even though I was one of the statistic leaders in the state, I still needed to do more to help my team get better. I learned to stay positive through our losses, and encourage my teammates when they weren't having the best games. My junior year we made it to the state championship match! We lost and got second, but that was a huge motivator for me. I wanted to return to the championship match, and not be denied. My senior year, we made it to the state semi finals. Even though we had match point, we lost to the team that would become the state champion. Dealing with the loss was another huge learning event, and motivated me to want to continue and become a champion at the college level.
