Finding balance has afforded me the opportunity to enjoy all aspects of being a student athlete. As a freshman, I struggled to find time for all my interests. Recognizing that I needed a different path, I focused on teaching myself time management skills. These skills have become a crucial component in my success as a student athlete and a whole person. While I enjoy playing sports and competing, I cherish being active in my community and school. Now in my junior year of High School, I’ve challenged myself academically taking many STEM classes as well as performing arts classes. My efforts have been rewarded. I’ve achieved an academic letter and made the Honor Roll. I believe that I, “lead from the front” (my High School’s motto) and I demonstrate this by my participation in Student Council, Book Club, and Teen Court. I have been honored by being nominated as a State of Colorado delegate for the National Congress of Future Science and Technology leaders. My passion to lead a fulfilling life doesn’t end with academics and athletics, but extents to my love of music. I’m a self-taught guitar and ukulele player and enjoy vocal performances. I've competed at the national level with my a cappella group and enjoyed the success and challenge of a semi-final competition in Dallas TX. Living and learning in my community is important and I’ve enjoyed volunteering my time coaching youth sports at my local recreation center. To top my busy schedule, I maintain part-time employment that allows me a little extra spending money. The pride I have in knowing that I have earned my own spending money is priceless. I’m excited to apply my passion, skills, and abilities at the next level.
