Growing up, I always loved playing sports here in Denver, but it wasn't until I discovered volleyball that I truly found my passion. As a 5'6" setter, I've spent the past four years honing my skills and pushing myself to be the best player I can be.
During my freshman year, I was a starter on the junior varsity team, and I was thrilled to be given such an opportunity and was excited to be part of the team. As the setter for the JV team during our successful 15-4 season, I played a key role in facilitating our offense and helping lead our team to such a successful season. Since then, I've worked hard to improve my game and become a more versatile player. On the court, I take my role as a leader seriously. Making the top team in both seasons, club volleyball has been an incredibly enriching and rewarding experience for me as an athlete. During the 2021-2022 club season, I was an on-court team captain and worked hard to motivate my teammates and lead by example. With improvement and keeping my on-court caption lead, I was an all-around back row setter and right side during my 2022-2023 club season. Being a part of a club team has been an incredibly fun and rewarding experience for me, as I've had the chance to meet new people, and compete against a wide variety of opponents, which has helped me grow as an athlete and as a person. I am a highly coachable athlete who is always eager to learn and improve my skills, and I welcome constructive feedback from my coaches. I understand that being coachable means being open to new ideas and techniques, and I am always willing to try new things and experiment with different approaches to improve my performance. I take pride in my ability to be a team player and work collaboratively with my coaches and teammates to achieve our goals. I'm proud of the relationships I've built with my teammates and coaches, and I'm always looking for ways to improve and help my team succeed.
Academically, I've maintained a 3.6-4.0 GPA throughout my school career. I take my studies seriously and understand the importance of balancing academics and athletics. As a driven and ambitious student-athlete, I was proud to become the youngest person to show my interest in the ROTC program at the University of Oklahoma in 2021. The ROTC director emphasized the need to stay focused on education while pursuing athletic and extracurricular goals. The advice about the importance of this resonated deeply with me and so... During my 8th-grade year, I was selected from the class of 2026 to be inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. This experience taught me the value of hard work, dedication, and service to others. Since then, in my freshman year, I was elected to be a part of a mental health awareness club. By being a part of this club I focus on supporting students with mental illness. Through this club, I've learned about the challenges that many young people face and have been able to provide support and resources to those who need it. These experiences have taught me the importance of empathy, compassion, and leadership. I'm excited about the prospect of further honing my skills in college, and I'm actively searching for a program that allows me to pursue my passion for volleyball while also providing opportunities to make a tangible change. I'm excited to continue my volleyball journey in college and hope to find a program that values hard work, dedication, and teamwork as much as I do.
Ultimately, I am confident that with my passion, drive, and commitment, I will be an asset to any college and make a positive impact both on and off the court. I am a driven and dedicated athlete who is committed to achieving success. With my passion, worth ethic, and positive attitude, I am confident that I can make a significant impact on any team and help take any program to the next level. I am excited to join a team where I can contribute my skills and talents, and make a positive difference in the lives of my teammates and coaches. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my passion for volleyball. I look forward to the many opportunities I hope to seek ahead of me!
