Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Alyssa King and I am currently a Junior (Class of 2021) at Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School (AMHS) located in Southwest Ranches, FL (Ft. Lauderdale).
I currently have a 3.6 grade point average. I consider myself a very outgoing, energetic, friendly and kind person. I absolutely love playing Volleyball, and I take the sport very seriously. At twelve (12) years old, I started playing club volleyball at High Voltage Volleyball Academy, located in Pembroke Pines, FL. During my tenure with High Voltage I developed a love for the game. I started to learn and understand the specific details of the sport, to include the position I was assigned and continue to currently play, Middle Blocker. In 2016, I transitioned to Wildfire Volleyball Academy located in Sunrise, FL (Ft Lauderdale), where I began as a starting Middle Blocker for the Wildfire 14U State team. In 2017, I made the Wildfire 15U State team. In 2018, I improved and worked hard to get myself into Wildfire 16U National (1) team. And after working very hard, and staying committed to my academics and volleyball, I was a starter on the Wildfire 16U National (1) team. I am currently playing for my high school varsity team, and I made the Wildfire 17U National (1) team.
While I continue to work very hard at practice and during my games for my team and coach, I intend on improving each day. I understand what it takes to be a complete team player, and I believe I can help your team to be successful on and off the volleyball court. My goal is to obtain a high-quality college education, while playing the sport I love at the collegiate level. I plan to major in Chemistry as an undergraduate.
