Mylie Sanchez '25 Recruiting Profile

Volleyball has been an important part of my life the last seven years.  A sport which started off as something to do for fun, and to follow in my older sister and cousins' footsteps, has evolved in true love and passion for me.  Playing at school and on travel teams,  has granted me the opportunity to learn and evolve as a player and person, both on and off the court.  For the last two years I have been fortunate to play volleyball at the varsity high school level.  Sophomore year has opened my eyes to the realization that college is around the corner.  Being selected to be one of the group of athletes who plays at the collegiate level is a goal I have established for myself.  I am not set in playing in any particular division,  as I believe the "perfect fit" for me may lie in any division.  As a setter I believe I would be an asset to any program I  become a part of.  I am hard working, a team player, I work well under pressure and enjoy the challenges and competitiveness this sport brings.  Academically I have not, and would not, ever be a burden for coaches.  This too makes me a valuable asset to any team/program. I have maintained a high GPA, always 3.7 and higher.  Being a student athlete is not an easy task,  but volleyball has definitely helped me to stay focused in the classroom.  I enjoy writing, and have excelled in English and Language Arts courses over the years.  These interests, along with volleyball, have steered me in wanting to major in Excersise Science. After college, I plan to follow in my father and brothers footsteps and become a firefighter.
