I discovered my love for volleyball in June 2020. I had recently decided to walk away from softball which is a sport I had played since I was five. My dad encouraged me to try volleyball. I was hooked the moment I touched the volleyball. My dad passed away just five months later. He was a deputy who was exposed to fentanyl during his shift.
I love volleyball and I play in honor of my dad. It is for this reason that I would be an asset to any team I play on. I continuously strive to be a better player every time I step on to the court whether it is practice or play. I am coachable. I actively seek out my coach's advice and I listen and put into practice what they suggest.
Academically is a daily struggle as I have been diagnosed with dyslexia, test anxiety, and language impairment. However, despite my learning difficulties, I continue to push through and do my best. I am determined to not allow my learning difficulties hold me back.
I feel as if I would benefit any team because I have shown that I can push through adversity and I do not give up. Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile.
