Daisy Hooper '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Daisy Hooper! Thank you so much for taking the time to come look at my profile! I have played volley for nearly six years. I have played school volleyball at Sandy Creek High School with our playoff run ending in the final four. I also play club during the school's offseason at Upward Stars South Atlanta.

Professionally, I aspire to be in the medical field with an interest in general surgery. Since a young age I've had a passion to help people and have been inspired by two of my uncles who are orthopedic surgeons, and who volunteer their time in both Haiti and Honduras. College offers me the opportunity to further explore the medical field and the specialty I want to pursue in Medical School.

In addition to my passion for medicine, I've also fallen in love with Volleyball and have played both school and club since age 12. During that time I've learned the techniques that make a player more effective but more importantly, I've learned the "strategy" of the game. I am confident in my ability to find the gaps, to track the ball and exploit the weaknesses of our competition. I may not jump the highest, but I consistently find the open spot and make the point. I am a versatile and strategic player.

My leadership skills are solid and my coaches have helped me grow those skills in various leadership roles. I know how to rally the troops and help other teammates strive for our common goal. I also know how to offer constructive feedback in a way that is non-threatening and straight from the heart. I've always got time to help with drills, to encourage and, when needed, get the team "out of their head" - its easy for me to focus forward, to learn from my mistakes and to press on. Volleyball has taught me so much and I would love to continue to grow in the sport throughout my college experience.
