Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Miya Bautista. I am a current sophomore at Farrington High School in Honolulu, Hawai'i. During my childhood, I started with dance for about five years until the end of elementary school. I also played flag football from third to fifth grade as well. So I am very used to busy weekends and hard work!
I found volleyball towards my seventh grade year, and didn't commit myself to the game until the middle of my eighth grade year. I have fell in love with the sport ever since. My first year of club volleyball was last year, my freshman year, and I learned many valuable lessons about teamwork, perseverance, integrity, and self-respect... along with many more. I learned how to work with all different types of people and well too.
I am looking for a team that will enhance my skills; help me get better as an athlete, player and overall person. I am working effortlessly everyday to keep my grades, my health and physicality up and I'm not going to lie, it has been so hard to do so. But I'm hoping it will all pay off by the time I get into a good college, and live my best "set" life!
Although I have started late on my recruiting journey, I still find my morals and athletic ability (given the certain circumstances with COVID this year) worth the risk of recruiting me into your College Volleyball Program! Volleyball has helped me become a better person, kept me sane when things weren't going my way, and has helped me find my path towards my future.
