I have been playing volleyball since I was 13 years old, however, I have always been in love with the sport through watching my family members play. I always wanted to play at the collegiate level but was discouraged when I tore my ACL and meniscus in February of 2023. As this is my junior year of high school, I realized that this is really something I want to pursue.
I have a strong block and am a consistent hitter. I know a lot about the game of volleyball and am able to be a leader that way as well. While sitting on the bench through my injury, I am able to help my teammates by encouraging them and helping them be more successful play-by-play. I work hard to build these skills year-round by playing on Prime Time VBC and going to a personal trainer. I am very coachable because I have played more than one sport my whole life. In high school, I play volleyball and basketball and have three varsity letters.
Being a student first, I have maintained a 3.5 GPA and take my school's highest-level classes. I participate in camps through the school as a coach or a leader. I work two jobs and balance my work schedule with my athletic schedule.
My ideal college would be one that pushed me academically and athletically. I would also like my college to allow me to study to be a nurse and play volleyball at the same time. I understand this will be a challenge for me, and to find the right school, but I am serious about both subjects and plan to seek both opportunities.
