My last 3 years of volleyball have influenced me in so many ways, such as when my team was on a losing streak, I stepped up and became a leader for my team to help keep our hopes up. I definitely play better as an individual if my team around me is positive. Even if we are losing and we still keep our energy up, then I feel like everyone works together and we play as a team. I first started getting into the sport of volleyball around seventh grade. My middle school had a seventh grade team that I tried out for. I didn't really have a position but I tried something new and became a setter. That middle school season really sparked my interest and love for the sport. I then continued to try out for my eighth-grade team, my freshman team, and my JV team. All four of these seasons have made a big impact on my life and only made my love for volleyball stronger.
My JV team, during COVID-19, has also made me appreciate the sport of volleyball and my teammates. Even though we had a shorter season, I am grateful that I am still able to play the sport that I love with the people that make me happy.
But, aside from volleyball, I have a deep interest in photography. I am currently taking photography as a class at my high school. We work with film photography and will later move onto digital photography. I also found my love for photography in middle school when one of my eighth grade electives was photography. When that trimester ended, I knew that I wanted to pursue photography more in depth in high school. I also enjoy spending time with my family. I have a younger sister who is 12 years old and is in 7th grade. She is also interested in volleyball so we bond over watching games and peppering in the backyard. My mom and my dad have also been big influences in my life. They have taught me so many life lessons, and when I thought that they were being to overprotective, or "not fair" it was just because they wanted what was right for me. They have really shaped me into the person that I am today.
