Personal Statement
I would love to play volleyball in college. I've been hooked on the sport since the 5th grade, and no matter how tough the coaches are or how tiring the practices are, I always look forward to any time I get on the court. I have fellow athletes on my team and they often talk about dreading practice because there are better things they could be doing, but I disagree. In my short 5 years of volleyball experience, I have never even thought about skipping practice. I love it, and I often think of how bored I'll be when I graduate high school. The simple solution to this is continuing to play in college. In addition to that, I focus on my academics as much as my athletics. I make sure that I enroll in all the classes that are presented to me and that I succeed in every course. My school always stresses that in the phrase "student-athlete", the word "student" always comes first. This has taught me that I need to succeed in both the academic and athletic areas of my life. I believe with my determined attitude combined with my academic and athletic achievements, that I am a worthy candidate for participating in collegiate sports.
