My name is Makenzie Mink. I am currently 15 years old. I go to Triton Central High School. This summer (June and July 2022) I have worked a lot with the varsity team during practice and even some league nights. I also have been playing some JV with Highschool too. But when it all started for my love and passion for volleyball was I was 9 years old. Some family introduced me to the sport and that's when I started to have the most fun. I played church ball at the Gathering Place when for a year. Then we found out what club was so we gave it a try. I made the 10-11 team at Team Indiana. It was a externally fun experience. So I gave it another run. The following club season I made the 12-2 at Team Indiana. I fell in even more love with the sport and had lots of fun, the tournaments, the drive, and meeting new people and creating bonds with them. Then it hit me, this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. Later that season, Covid hit. The season came to an end but we did virtual games and zoom meetings with each other. My 7th grade year has then started. I played all around still for the whole season until the end. It came to me that I was not very tall, so I went with being a DS. Didn't know I could love a position so much. Then there was club season, I decided I wanted to move clubs. So I went to Circle City, I am extremely happy that I did. I got an amazing coaches, Rick and Diane White. They taught me a lot and teaching me how to run the back row and the taught me the ways around volleyball. They helped me improve so much and gain so much more love for the sport. It was heart breaking when that season came to an end. But I had my 8th grade year right after that. I played my 8th grade year as Libro/ds, sometimes I would even hit outside, not very though. Then I played my 14 year for club at Circle City. I was Libro the whole season. That position has a deep spot in my heart, there's a strong connection. Even though Libro is my favorite position, I'm more than willingly to play anywhere. After that season ended Highschool training has started, I' very excited for Highschool volleyball. I see myself playing volleyball all my Highschool year, playing club all the way up to where I can. Then head to collage and continuing to work on my career, with volleyball and job wise. As of right now I want to be a surgical tech. When I get out of collage I want to work as a surgical tech and coach volleyball for a club and Highschool. Anyways, I have a very strong drive to play volleyball. That drive is the traveling, meeting new people, playing good teams, making memories, getting better, and the adrenaline rush.
-thank you.
