Hello! My name is D'NIAYA SETTLES. I wrote my name in all caps so it can stand out. I am a junior located in Ames, Iowa and I have been playing volleyball since I was 11 years old. I play both school and club volleyball. I have a deep love for this sport and my dream is to play in college one day.
One thing about me is that I have a huge work ethic. My dad always told me that no matter how talented you are it won’t mean anything if you don’t work hard and push yourself. So consistently, I do these things to help with working on myself. For example, I go to the gym and lift weights after school, I watch a lot of college volleyball because I love learning and watching others who are better than me. Finally, I'll do anything to improve myself.
Another thing about me is that I’m very smart and take school very seriously. I currently have a 3.8GPA but it will be higher by the end of my high school career. After college, I plan on going into the medical field and studying sports medicine.
Lastly, I have a huge personality and I'm very loud! In a good way of course! I love to listen and get as much feedback as possible. I love asking for advice and want to get better! I’m improving and getting better every day! I know I can be a great part of any team that is willing to give me a chance! Thank you!
