- 2022 Highlights
Personal Statement
I am a 5'6'' Libero and Defensive Specialist from Des Moines, Iowa and I will graduate with the class of 2023. I have been a starter on my club team since I began playing volleyball in 2013. I have a 4.30 weighted GPA, and I have taken AP Literature and Composition, AP Spanish, AP Chemistry, AP US History, and AP Language and Composition with more to come, along with scoring 1170 on the PSAT and 27 on the ACT. Also, I had my own small business that resells used vintage denim and 90’s clothing.
I fell in love with volleyball the moment I stepped onto the court. Since then, I have put in the hard work and dedication to play this sport. This hard work can be seen when I am at the gym strength training or conditioning almost every day, in order to become stronger and more reactive during a game. One of my past coaches once said, "Good things come to those who hustle" and it has pushed me to work hard off and on the court, no matter the challenges or people in my way. I want to be the best at my positions as a Defensive Specialist and Libero. As I previously stated, I am in the gym for at least two hours every day practicing volleyball and lifting weights. This high school season I was awarded the Rider Strong Award. This award is given to the athlete that works the hardest in the weight room and on the court. The drive to be great at this sport has allowed me to become a leader for the girls on my team and the younger girls in the program. I was the team captain for the Junior Varsity team and I am also a mentor for several of the girls on the Freshman volleyball team, 8th-grade volleyball team, and the 6th-grade volleyball team. From my love for volleyball, I found my passion for coaching volleyball. As a result, I have volunteer assistant coached a 12U, 13U, and 14U club volleyball teams.
