Caleigh Smith '18 Recruiting Profile

Playing varsity as a Freshman and Sophomore has given me the positive leadership skills that I will use to ensure the success of our team this year and next. Our volleyball team has made it to the regional final game two years in a row and has not continued on to the State Tournament. This has pushed me to work harder and to be more mentally tough in all sports. This mental toughness helped me and my team qualify for the State Golf Tournament last Spring.

Playing USA club volleyball for the past five years with the Iowa Rockets has given me the confidence and fundamental skills I need to be successful as a team player at the highest level. Competing at major tournaments including the Junior Nationals has allowed me to excel at a higher level of competition. I am a four-sport athlete and am willing to put the time into my training by regularly following a lifting program and spending as much time as I am allowed in the gym, working to improve my overall level of play. My work ethic is just as strong academically. I would like to continue playing volleyball at the collegiate level while receiving a valuable education. I hold myself to high expectations and will put forth 120% towards my team and my education.
