Personal Statement

Academics come before everything and I want to find that one school who has my field of study but also find the school where I will enjoy playing as an athlete. Coach always says that we play like we practice and I believe that to be true. Practicing almost every day, 100% of the time makes me feel I have accomplished so much. On the volleyball court with my team is where I feel the best. Pushing your teammate to do better, giving high fives, yelling so loud because your teammate just had the best hit or the best dig, is what makes volleyball so exciting. My failures have always pushed me to do better in school and on the court. When I succeed I still push even harder because there is always room for improvement.

Our school has never been one to win conference or state volleyball, but every time we did lose it kept me hungry for next year to try again. Recently the school we played sports with for almost 30 years has separated from us. It was an upset to all of the athletes and it worried me to see how our school would play together, but I had confidence. Over the AAU season, I bonded with teammates that I knew,  but never really played with on the court. I was so proud of how we worked on the court, placing second at almost every tournament. I am so excited to find the right college for me that will lead me to my career and be apart of their volleyball family!
