I am currently a 15 year old sophomore attending South Tama County High School. I have played volleyball, softball, and basketball since the third grade and have been involved in high school track since seventh grade. Volleyball is my first love. I have been a setter for my high school, club, and AAU volleyball teams the past 3 years. I also pitch, starting as the JV pitcher my eighth and ninth grade years and playing varsity as the relief pitcher my freshman year. I have a goal to either pitch or play volleyball at the collegiate level with a goal of being a starting setter for a college team. As a volleyball player I see the court well, I'm a hard worker, and very consistent in my play. I will continue to play AAU volleyball in off the season and will also be attending camps this summer. I continue to take one on one pitching lessons with my pitching coach year round and I am continuing to work on perfecting my change up and improving my drop and rise ball.
I have taken an active role as a leader on my volleyball and basketball teams at high school. As a point guard on the basketball team and a setter on the volleyball team I get things in motion. I run the offense and have a good relationship with my team mates. I am also involved in the All for One Program at my high school. This is a group of students who set a good example for the younger students in our community and become involved with projects with these younger students. I am also an active church member at our local church.
My goals and dreams are to attend a college to play volleyball and to major in a social service area to help underprivileged kids. I have a dream to improve the lives of kids who are less fortunate than myself. Another goal I have is to continue to improve my grade point average to a 3.8 or higher in high school and to be accepted into the National Honor Society program. I believe I can do just about anything I set my mind to do and that my hard work ethic will pay off and help me to become a successful student athlete on and off the court.
