What I love about volleyball is how it makes me a better friend, student, and community member. Being part of the team is the most important part of my sport, and I fully commit to any community I am immersed in. Volleyball has taught me to support my peers and how to ask for help when needed. I am not afraid to admit my faults but rather am excited to learn from them. I am driven to pursue volleyball at the collegiate level after attending the American University Volleyball camp because it exposed me to college athletes and coaches. My leadership skills on the court were recognized by my coach who named me co-captain for my club team for the 2020-2021 season. I volunteer weekly tutoring math to an 8th grader who is part of a free-tutoring organization for underserved youth. I have consistently finished each middle/high school grade with high or highest honors. I always try to push myself both academically and athletically, so I am most interested in a school that can cater to high levels of competition while still having a good balance.
