Aloha! I am Malia Phiasiripanyo, I am part of a military family. I have been fortunate to have traveled to different states and countries. In my time I come to understand and have sacrificed, served and gained resiliency. I learned values and customs from different cultures and people and adapted to different environments. I view the world with those experiences and value that diversity and time abroad. It has grown me as a person and my outlook in the world.
I am a junior at Atholton High School, Maryland. I am part of my high school’s varsity volleyball team playing as a libero and a traveling club team, playing in various positions.
On the teams, I value and try to extend positive psychology with team spirit. I do this by encouraging my teammates and for them to be proud of themselves. Cheer them, when they are down give them pep talks to overcome their barriers.
I have been fortunate to find a good club. In my first year of competitive volleyball, in the 14 Under team, I was recognized with the Columbia Volleyball Academy’s Standard Award, as it shows my commitment to the club. The next year, as a 15 year old playing in the 16U team, I was awarded 16U Most Improved player for my versatility on defense in the back and front row and when called upon transition to outside and middle hitting and blocking. During my last 16U team, I learned and further developed my gameplay and team sportsmanship. I am looking forward to continuing on with club play with a 17U team.
I have used all my experiences in life to be adaptable, dependable, and trustworthy. I am eager to further learn, develop, and excel and it seems you have those qualities and opportunities. Can we further chat?
