My name is Vanessa Gude and I'm a 2024 libero at Century High School. I currently live in Eldersburg Maryland but grew up in California/Nevada. I started volleyball when I moved here in 2019 with my adoptive parents. I was adopted when I was 13 and have grown lengths since then... Not only with volleyball, but in school and with personal development as well. From the moment I made my first club team as the libero and captain, I knew I wanted to play in college. I am a competitive and persevering player who won't give up. I always strive to bring enthusiasm and leadership to the court whether it's game time, practice or just for fun. This season I played for Baltimore Elite 17 Navy (1s team) and was the starting libero all season. My team plays in open and national divisions, and we finished 7th in the 17/18 open at our last tournament a few weekends ago. For high school, I have been a varsity starter since freshman year and led my team to the state finals as libero during my sophomore year. My junior season, I was captain of our team and got rewarded defensive MVP. This sport has become my life, and my dream and goal is to play competitively in college and get a degree in Psychology or Criminology, although I am interested in other majors as well. If I'm not playing volleyball or at the gym, I am either doing schoolwork or probably outside somewhere with my dog Sushi. I currently have a 3.9 weighted GPA and a 3.7 unweighted which I am working to get higher by the end of this year. I mostly take AP and Honor level classes and am in the National Honor Society I like to push myself by taking classes that round me as a student. I love the outdoors. I lived on a ranch growing up, so I have a passion for horses and farm life. I enjoy hunting, fishing and hiking. I also like relaxing and spending time with friends, if I have time. I am looking for a small-medium sized college in a rural/suburb setting that has a few of the majors I'm interested in. I would love to play competitive collegiate volleyball and am willing to do whatever it takes to reach my potential. If you are looking to recruit a 2024 libero who is high energy, hardworking, mentally tough and wants to lead and win, I am that person!
Thank you for your time:)
