My name is Larissa Martins. I am from Easton, Massachusetts and I go to school at Oliver Ames High School I have played volleyball since middle school, but I started playing seriously only two years ago. I played on the freshman team of my school as a starting setter and didn't make a club team my freshman year. I played on the junior varsity team as libero sophomore year, completely switching positions in a short period of time. I also played on the 16 blue team at my club as a right side and outside hitter. Most recently, I made it on my school’s varisty team as a defensive specialist. Continuing on my volleyball journey, I am on the 18s national red team at my club MGA initially as a libero, but I switched last minute to accommodate for others leaving the team due to mental or physical injuries. By playing multiple positions in the span of only two years, it shows my dedication and the importance of being a well-rounded player. Many of my previous coaches will describe me a extremely dedicated to the sport as well as expressive of my love for the sport. I challenge myself in every position and aspect of the game, and it is shown through my continuous improvement and positive attitude. I am also very dedicated to my schoolwork. I am in very challenging courses including many AP and honors classes, while achieving straight A's all throughout high school. My favorite classes include Physics and Chemistry. My goal in college is to be a student athlete and major in either Nursing, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics. I am looking forward to hopefully pursuing my volleyball journey in college and I will strive for the best to become the best player I can be, while also having fun playing the sport that I love.
